چکیده

In this paper, we describe how to exploit a machine-readable dictionary (MRD) and domain-specific text corpus in supporting the construction of domain on-tologies that specify taxonomic and non-taxonomic relationships among given domain concepts. A) In building taxonomic relationships (hierarchically structure) of domain concepts, some hierarchically structure can be extracted from a MRD with marked sub-trees that may be modified by a domain expert, using matching result analysis and trimmed result analysis. B) In building non-taxonomic relationships (specification templates) of domain concepts, we construct concept specification templates that come from pairs of concepts extracted from text corpus, using WordSpace and an association rule algorithm. A domain expert modifies taxonomic and non-taxonomic relationships later. Through the case study with the Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), we make sure that our system can work to support the process of constructing domain ontologies with a MRD and text corpus.

A Support Environment for Domain Ontology Development with General Ontologies and Text Corpus

For constructing semantically rich service descriptions in Grid services, emerging ontologies are being used. To generate ontologies, an issue named “ontology bottleneck”, the lack of efficient ways to build ontologies, has been coming up. Therefore, it is an urgent task to improve the methodology for rapid development of more detailed and specialized domain ontologies. However, it has been a h...

DODDLE-OWL: Interactive Domain Ontology Development with Open Source Software in Java

SUMMARY In this paper, we propose an interactive domain ontology development environment called DODDLE-OWL. DODDLE-OWL refers to existing ontologies and supports the semi-automatic construction of tax-onomic and other relationships in domain ontologies from documents. Integrating several modules, DODDLE-OWL is a practical and interactive domain ontology development environment. In order to eval...

DODDLE-OWL: On-the-fly Ontology Construction with Ontology Quality Management

In this paper, we propose a software environment for user-centered on-the-fly ontology construction named DODDLE-OWL (Domain Ontology rapiD DeveLopment Environment Web Ontology Language extension). The architecture of DODDLE-OWL is re-designed based on DODDLE-II [1], our former study. DODDLE-OWL has the following five modules: Input Module, Construction Module, Refinement Module, Visualization ...

Constructing a class hierarchy with properties by refining and aligning Japanese wikipedia ontology and Japanese WordNet

Introduction We have proposed learning methods for building a large-scale and high accuracy general ontology called Japanese Wikipedia Ontology (JWO) by extracting the concepts and relationships between concepts from various semistructured resources in Japanese Wikipedia [3]. However, JWO has problems because it lacks upper classes and appropriate definitions of properties. Thus, the aim of our...
